Teachers use assessment for learning techniques (AFL) to assess children formatively and summatively and use the School Information Management System (SIMS) to track and assist with monitoring summative data produced once a term.  Formative assessment is used by Teachers as an on-going assessment tool to aid children with their next steps and targets for the whole curriculum.  The school holds termly pupil progress review (PPR) meetings to discuss the summative assessments and ascertain specific targeted support.  At the PPR meetings senior leaders also discuss the emotional wellbeing of children to ensure that this is not a barrier to their learning and that the correct provision is put in place to support this.
