Year 5 walked up to the Convent of Mercy as part of their Prayer, Saints and Feasts RE unit. The purpose of the visit was to sketch the statue of St. Bernadette and Our Lady around the pond in the garden of the convent. This was Year 5’s mini version of a pilgrimage to Lourdes. Despite the rain, the children really enjoyed themselves in the tranquillity of the garden. We said a prayer for Sister Aquin and had a few minutes to say a private prayer, before leaving to return to school.
