Jurassic Coast visit Year 3

JURASSIC COAST TEAM VISIT

Year 3 were lucky enough to meet a real life paleontologist (Simon) as well as Dr Anjana Ford when they visited the school, bringing along lots of different fossils!  Everyone enjoyed painting their own fossils, carefully drawing a variety of fossils, and doing a dig to discover real dinosaur bones and teeth!  The biggest attraction was the chance to ask Simon lots of questions about his job as a paleontologist; including questions like: Why do ichthysaurs have strange backbones? What's the largest fossil  you've ever found? and What's the oldest fossil you've ever found?

Simon promised we could email him with further questions, and Dr Ford asked that the children write her letters telling her about what they have learnt so far about dinosaurs - which should take about 5 pages, because they know SUCH a lot already! Well done Year 3!
