Year 2 visit Portland

On Tuesday 19th November, Year 2 visited Portland Museum as part of our April 15, 1912 topic. We were treated to tales of smugglers and shipwrecks and were fascinated to discover how common both of these once were in this area.

We spent time exploring the museum and learning more about the many artifacts they have. We even got to have a picnic surrounded by dinosaur footprints and mummified cats!

When we left the museum we had enough time to walk down to Church Ope Cove and try to find ‘pirate’ graves among the ruins of St Andrew’s Church.

The children had a brilliant time and we were very proud of how well they behaved during the day.
