St. Augustine's School News
This week we were happy to welcome our children back after the half term break.
We started the week with our Whole School Liturgy which was directly linked to The Feast of Corpus Christi and within the liturgy we prayed  for the children working hard on their First Holy Communion Programme. We are delighted with the way the children are learning to grow closer to God through their preparation.
We also launched a very special project that all our children have become involved in. We received an invitation from CAFOD, the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development, inviting us to become global observers and to create 'decorated eyes' for an Art Installation being prepared for the G7 Summit, so every class teacher shared resources with their classes to help them gain a fuller understanding of the significance of the G7 Summit for the future of our world and the children all created their work which was then sent to CAFOD.
To link in with this work, our thought for the week was,

This week, the eyes of the world are on the UK at the G7 Summit in Cornwall.

This week, how can you stand up for justice for the good of our planet and the good of others?
We thank all our children and staff for becoming actively involved and were so proud of the work the children produced, with some of them including very touching messages of hope for the future of our planet. It was great to see our children's understanding of global justice.
