St. Augustine's School News

We have had another lovely week with the children.
We started the week with our virtual liturgy and launched Refugee Week during the liturgy as we prayed for children and their families around the world. We focused on the theme of compassion and this has been our focus:

This week, we think about refugees both in the UK and all around the world. Let us think about how displaced people may feel when they come to a new country.

Our thought for the week is:

How can you act with compassion this week and be welcoming, loving and kind to those who may feel alone, displaced or sad?

As part of refugee week, the children have been working on different activities in their classes and we have been really touched by their thoughtful responses to this work. It has reminded us of the deep spirituality of our children.

As we are now in our last week of our work on Reconciliation in RE, every class has gathered as a worshipping community for their class liturgies and have prepared beautifully by composing their own prayers and some classes have incorporated their work on Refugees into these special prayerful celebrations.
