Yr 6 in London

Year 6 are on their residential visit to London this week.

Tuesday. They've just been to visit the PM at no 10! Then they went to Buckingham Palace, where they saw the Queen at the window and caught sight of Michelle Obama in her car with police escort. Back to the hostel for chicken and chips, followed by stroll round St Paul's and photos on the steps. Off to bed soon - lots of sore feet - should sleep well tonight!

Wednesday

Today we walked to the Tower of London. On the way we saw Pudding Lane (where the Great Fire of London Started). At the Tower, we learned many gruesome facts about crime and punishment and also saw the Crown Jewels. After lunch we caught the bus to Trafalgar Square and saw Matilda the Musical at the Cambridge Theatre. It was a fantastic show and loved by all!

Thursday

We had a great day of tube travel and museums. At the Science Museum,
fun was had in the Launchpad and we saw a Science explosions show. We
ate lunch in Hyde Park and played games with frisbees and balls. Then
we went to the Natural History Museum to see the dinosaurs and
experience an earthquake. The children were very tired after this so
we came back to the hostel for a rest before dinner. We will venture
out again to the Millenium Bridge this evening (by popular demand)!
