WILD IN THE WOODLAND
Some children from Year 4 have been taking part in Forest School sessions this term with Mrs Gardiner and Mrs Taylor. Thanks to the Afforestation Trust, a charity which supports communities across the world to repopulate their local areas with trees, we have been able to purchase essential kit for the children to use. This includes the safe use of tools such as saws, knives, loppers and secateurs.
The children have learnt to use these tools safely to clear our small woodland area of brambles, and collect wood to use for the fire! As you can see from the photos, everyone takes it very seriously! They have enjoyed making shelters too, but the biggest achievement was their magnificent teamwork. Very well done to the children in Year 4 who have nearly completed their Forest School sessions - you have learnt a lot!
