Spanish Day

The school held a very successful Spanish Day in Friday 22nd March, the aim of which was to bring Spain to the school for a day and to allow the children to practice their Spanish (in a guided way) in a "real" environment.

It was planned as an itinerary with different stops - Bus stop, Metro Stop, Coffee place, Shop, Cinema and Main Square. At each stop the children had to accomplish little tests such as "Buy a kg of potatoes and half a kg of bananas", but everything had to be in Spanish.  There were Spanish speakers at every stop to assure the quality of the interactions and so that the children could be corrected.  The children had lots of fun. They did their best, practised their Spanish, and everyone really enjoyed the experience.

Many thanks are extended to Mrs Catherine Tonkin, Mrs Jane Fry and Mrs Sarah Anthony, Raquel and Angela (mothers of children from the school) and Miss Vicky Gordge and two students, Louisa and Gabriel, from All Saints, not forgetting Jerome (Y3) and Emmanuel (Y5) who also helped.  Their assistance ensured that it was a successful day and we are really grateful for their help.
