Science Week

The whole school thoroughly enjoyed Science Week from 21st to 25th January, carrying out lots of exciting experiments and investigations.  On Wednesday the children were thoroughly entertained by William B. Curious, an ex-professor of Science turned clown, who showed the children that science is all around us and can be great fun!

In Year 3, Dinosaur Week activities included measuring the length of life-sized dinosaurs (see pictures) with trundle wheels on the playground, then drawing them lifesize.  We found that the whole class could fit inside a Brontosaurus!  Year 3 childrens also enjoyed finding out about how fossils are formed, making their own fossil from plaster of paris.  They also designed and wrote small information booklets about their favourite dinosaur.
