Forest Schools fun in Year5

Year 5 have been exploring the outdoor environment this half term in our custom designed Forest School in the grounds.  Over the course of the last 6 weeks they have collected blackberries, found minibeasts under logs, made shelters as part of their World War 2 topic, and made bows and arrows to defend themselves behind 'enemy lines'.

Stephen commented: It was good, exciting and it helped me get outdoors! It also helped me get in contact with nature and our science learning.  I learned how to whittle wood!

Grace said: I thought it was amazing seeing all the animals and building shelters as I'm not a good builder but I've got better. I think the next group will love Forest School, it's fun and I think they will be very excited!
